Nottingham Varsity Series

The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University needed reliable, engaging imagery to promote their flagship student sports series

Background

The Nottingham Varsity series is one of the largest inter university sports competitions in the UK. Boasting over 25 sports at 15 events, it provides a showcase of the two universities sporting depth to the general student population.

The events range from packed out arenas for ice hockey to smaller, but still intense venues for smaller sports such as canoe polo.

Scope

The series is run as a collaboration between the universities, which means there are many end users with different requirements. This, along with the need for high quality, reliable imagery has resulted in DGTL providing photography for the series for the past 4 years.

The Content

What we did

How we tackled the events

Given the amount of events careful planning was required to ensure universal coverage was provided. Our professional photographers were on hand to capture every moment of the events, from kick off to celebrations and everything in between.

The range of sports at Nottingham varsity is very unique, but we took it in our stride, capturing high quality imagery in all weather conditions.

The outputs

What was the final result?

We aimed to deliver the images with a fast turnaround to the different customers within the universities. Before the events kicked off we had agreed a few different looks to the images to ensure that all of the different requirements were met.
